About
My name is Pete Caster and since I am writing this myself, I will spare you the fancy third-person biography.
I’m a photojournalist living in Denver, Colorado. I am also the visuals editor for the Tacoma News Tribune.
I am ready and willing to take on any freelance work.
Being boastful about my accolades is a bit embarrassing, but I am proud of the achievements. In 2022 I was awarded second place in the National Press Photographers Association Best of Photojournalism contest as the runner-up for the Photojournalist of the Year (Small Market). In 2021 I earned the honor of being the first-place finisher for the Monthly Clip Contest in the Northwest Region. In 2019, the Idaho Press Club awarded me Photographer of the Year. There are a number of other recognitions I have received but those are the ones I am most proud to have received.
The things I feel comfortable bragging about are pretty short… I will totally pick up the pile and win in rummy, I have a wonderful partner, and I have two horrible cats and one beautiful dog. My fantasy football teams are average but always make a playoff run. My partner and I love camping in the middle of nowhere with a few cold margaritas in a can.
I graduated from Washington State University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in English.
